FollowthePromises is an accountability project of ReadyToLeadAfrica targeted at measuring the progress of the implementation and execution of promises made by the 2023 Nigerian Governorship candidates during their campaigns by candidates from the local government level to the State level.
The FollowThePromises Initiative seeks to hold 6 Gubernatorial level candidates across the 6 geopolitical zones of Nigeria accountable using our #FollowThePromises sector performance measurement web and app platform on a pilot scheme which will be spread across the rest of Nigeria to increase citizen’s participation in governance thereby serving as a mechanism for Nigerian citizens both at home and in diaspora to monitor government activities across Nigeria and Africa at large

FollowthePromises gives citizens the opportunity to track progress in their communities from anywhere in the world through the collation of data provided by ReadyToLeadAfrica’s representatives across 6 states from each geopolitical zone in Nigeria which are Sokoto, Plateau, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Gombe and Akwa Ibom in North East, North Central, South East, South West, North West and South South respectively.
The initiative is an electoral promises accountability measurement project designed to improve citizens' trust in the Government, this initiative is aimed at ensuring that public office holders deliver on their promises whilst providing the information and tools for citizens to hold public officeholders accountable.
